Jakub Kubica — Available through The Orb

A refined aluminium surface meets raw natural stone in a design that highlights contrast and craftsmanship. The tabletop is carefully cut to follow the unique shape of the white stone, allowing the natural form to guide the final result.

Instead of reshaping the material, the design embraces its irregular edges and texture, turning each piece into a one-of-a-kind object. This approach gives every table its own character, making it both functional and sculptural.

With its clean metal lines and organic base, the Merge side table adds a subtle yet distinctive presence to modern interiors.

Jakub Kubica , Refined Brutalism - The Poetry of Tension and Form

Jakub Kubica is a Slovak-born, Berlin-based artist and designer whose practice moves fluidly between sculpture, performance, and collectible design. Coming from a formal art education and a background in experimental, conceptual work, Kubica arrived at object-making organically — as an extension of his artistic explorations rather than a separate discipline.

In his studio-workshop on the outskirts of Berlin, he builds each piece by hand, treating the space as a small universe where materials, gestures, and ideas merge. His objects carry a distinctive poetic tension: raw stone meets precisely cut aluminum; natural irregularity contrasts with industrial clarity. What began as intuitive sculptural experiments has evolved into a body of refined, sophisticated furniture and functional objects — yet each retains the immediacy and honesty of the artist’s hand.
