Florent in Floret in Noir €635,00

The Orb — Available through The Orb

This vessel holds a quiet, asymmetrical tension, its form folding in on itself rather than fully opening. The rim rises unevenly, creating a subtle sense of interruption, as though the bloom has turned inward or been shaped by an external force. The silhouette remains grounded by a narrow stem, lending the piece a poised but restrained stance.

Fine, linear striations run across the surface, reinforcing the feeling of slow accumulation and touch. The deep, dark glaze concentrates along the rim and interior, where it pools and catches light in brief, reflective moments.

Tania Whalen,

Born in London and now based in Brooklyn, Whalen creates hand-built ceramic works that honor the raw, expressive nature of clay. Using traditional pinch and coil techniques, her process is slow and intuitive, allowing each form to develop organically. Textured surfaces and sculptural silhouettes emerge through touch, balance, and restraint.

Inspired by nature, architecture, and everyday forms, her work embraces imperfection and quiet strength. Often left unglazed on the exterior, the pieces emphasize tactility and the inherent character of the material, existing as singular objects that move fluidly between function and sculpture.
