Noir Chanterelle €950,00

Tania Whalen — Available through The Orb

This hand-built vessel draws inspiration from the distinctive form of the chanterelle mushroom. It is crafted from a beautiful black clay body that features an appealing textured surface. A practical clear glaze on the interior ensures it is completely watertight.

Tania Whalen,

Born in London and now based in Brooklyn, Whalen creates hand-built ceramic works that honor the raw, expressive nature of clay. Using traditional pinch and coil techniques, her process is slow and intuitive, allowing each form to develop organically. Textured surfaces and sculptural silhouettes emerge through touch, balance, and restraint.

Inspired by nature, architecture, and everyday forms, her work embraces imperfection and quiet strength. Often left unglazed on the exterior, the pieces emphasize tactility and the inherent character of the material, existing as singular objects that move fluidly between function and sculpture.
