Florent in Cream V €635,00

The Orb — Available through The Orb

This sculptural vessel balances delicacy with grounded presence. Its silhouette rises from a narrow, gently weighted base into a flared, petal-like rim, evoking the moment a flower opens just before full bloom. The surface is subtly striated, revealing the trace of the maker’s hand and lending the piece an organic rhythm, like growth lines in bark or clay shaped by time.

Each piece is individually made and signed, celebrating the natural asymmetry and quiet strength of the ginkgo—an enduring symbol of resilience and longevity.

Tania Whalen,

Born in London and now based in Brooklyn, Whalen creates hand-built ceramic works that honor the raw, expressive nature of clay. Using traditional pinch and coil techniques, her process is slow and intuitive, allowing each form to develop organically. Textured surfaces and sculptural silhouettes emerge through touch, balance, and restraint.

Inspired by nature, architecture, and everyday forms, her work embraces imperfection and quiet strength. Often left unglazed on the exterior, the pieces emphasize tactility and the inherent character of the material, existing as singular objects that move fluidly between function and sculpture.
