Edoardo Cozzani — Available through The Orb

Calymene is a suspended luminous form that feels both organic and otherworldly. Shaped like a glowing shell or cocoon, its surface is marked by a rhythmic pattern of incisions that filter light softly into the surrounding space.

When illuminated, the piece reveals a warm, golden glow that shifts with perspective — sometimes intimate and enveloping, sometimes architectural and precise. The perforations act as both ornament and structure, allowing light to breathe through the form and cast subtle shadows nearby.

Neither purely lighting nor purely sculpture, Calymene exists in between. It holds presence without weight, floating quietly while transforming the atmosphere around it. Designed to be experienced as much as seen, it brings warmth, depth, and a sense of quiet ritual to the space it inhabits.

Each piece is handcrafted, with slight variations that make every Calymene unique.

Edoardo Cozzani, Edoardo Cozzani’s work explores the fragile dialogue between nature and the man-made — transforming raw materials into poetic, timeworn forms that echo memory, erosion, and renewal.

Italian-born and New York-based, Edoardo Cozzani (b. 1993, Rome) navigates the liminal spaces between nature and the artificial, matter and context. His multidisciplinary practice—the result of lived journeys through deserts, swamps and mountains—uses experimental photography, analog sculptural techniques and site-specific interventions to probe how materials evolve, accumulate history and bear witness to human intervention. Cozzani’s recent work transforms marble, glass, aluminum and unexpected found matter into “modern fossils” that invite reflection on time, landscape and our imprint on both.
