The Bio

Veermakers emerged from years of collaboration between Liljencrantz Design and KFK Cabinet-Makers — a shared pursuit of precision, proportion, and timeless beauty. Rooted in Swedish design traditions, the studio bridges architecture, art, and craftsmanship to create furniture defined by restraint and integrity. Every piece is shaped by light, material, and touch — pared back to its essence, yet rich with presence. Crafted to endure, Veermakers’ work embodies quiet strength and enduring elegance.

The Conversation

What sparked the idea to form Veermakers alongside Liljencrantz Design and KFK Cabinet-Makers? Was there a pivotal “aha” moment?

It wasn’t one single moment but rather a natural evolution. For years, I collaborated closely with KFK on bespoke interiors, projects where every element was tailor-made, down to the smallest joint.

We realized there was something powerful in that partnership: a shared respect for materials, proportions, and a kind of quiet elegance.Veermakerswas born from the idea of translating that sensibility into a furniture collection.

How do Swedish design traditions and your background influence the style and functionality of Veermakers pieces?

Swedish design is shaped by light, by nature, and by a tradition of restraint. There’s an honesty to it, nothing unnecessary, nothing ornamental for its own sake. I carry that with me in everything I do. But I also want warmth, depth, and emotion. In the end, it’s about creating pieces that feel both grounded in tradition and alive in the present.

Who or what inspires you most outside the world of design?

Architecture and art are constant sources of inspiration. Carlo Scarpa, Donald Judd, Jean-Michel Frank, these figures have taught me that simplicity can be deeply complex. But I also find inspiration in small, everyday encounters: the patina of a facade, the curve of a stone, the way light moves across a wall. I take hundreds of photographs with my phone when something catches my eye. Later, those details often resurface in my sketches.
