Obsessions: 'A Self Portrait' Exhibition with Openhouse

There are moments when a project feels less like a presentation and more like a continuation of something ongoing. For The Orb, taking part in Obsessions: A Self Portrait is one of those moments.

As a concept and multipurpose universe—moving between collectible, gallery, and medium—The Orb brings seven pieces into the exhibition. They are not meant to stand alone, but to reflect a wider system of ideas and references that we’ve been building over time. Placed within the context of the show, the works become part of a larger conversation around repetition, attention, and the ways in which certain forms or gestures stay with us.

The exhibition is presented by Openhouse Magazine, a platform that exists both in print and online, known for its careful approach to storytelling across interiors, design, and everyday life. With Issue 25, Openhouse turns its focus toward the theme of obsession—approaching it not as something extreme, but as a natural extension of passion, of staying with something long enough for it to evolve.

Obsessions: A Self Portrait translates this theme into space. The installation is composed of ten curated sets, bringing together different practices and perspectives, allowing each to sit alongside the others without hierarchy.

The project is curated by Pernille Vest, whose direction keeps the exhibition grounded and precise. There is a clarity in how the works are placed and related—nothing feels overstated, and the rhythm of the space allows each piece to be encountered on its own terms.
